Wine tasting

Only a few Steps from the Droselgasse one will find the Bassenheimer Hof, constructed in the sixteenth century. Already in 1647 the name of the Störzel family occurs in the archives of that small town with the big name: Rüdesheim am Rhein. The Bassenheimer Hof is situated next to the Brömserhof which houses Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinet. This house from the 16th century bears witness to a glorious past. It possesses an even older wine cellar, the foundations of which go back to 1480.

Also the 17th century winepress house or Kelterhouse has its charms. Amidst two old winepresses, one finds a collection of photographs of Rüdesheim in days gone by. In these two buildings we welcome our guests for the wine tastings. The cellar accommodates 140 persons, whereas the Press House can comfortably hold 80.

You can learn about our wines during a wine tasting. Three, four, or five wines will be served with knowledge and humour. You will learn something more about the history of winegrowing in our region, the way we produce our wines and their particularities. We serve you a brezel with the wine to neutralize the taste of the different wines. The little glass with the coat of arms of the family you may keep as a souvenir.

You can experience our wine tasting in English, French, Dutch and German. Other languages such as Danish, Spanish or Italian on request.
